MANUAL THERAPY

What is manual therapy?

As per our governeing body (IFOMPT): “Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy is a specialised area of physiotherapy / physical therapy for the management of neuro-musculoskeletal conditions, based on clinical reasoning, using highly specific treatment approaches including manual techniques and therapeutic exercises.

Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy also encompasses, and is driven by, the available scientific and clinical evidence and the biopsychosocial framework of each individual patient.

What does all this mean? If your assessment indicates that you would benefit from your joints being mobilised or manipulated than that is something we can offer you. If your assessment indicates that you would benefit from muscle, ligament, tendon release or activation work than that is something we can offer you. Lastly! If you would benefit from exercise that provides a therapeutic effect than we can offer that too!

Please get in touch if you have any questions about manual therapy.
