Our Story

The Musculoskeletal Clinic was founded in 2018. We felt we could provide a unique Physiotherapy service that was not offered in the current environment and so set out to create a service that provided just that.

We now have a practice located inside the Habitat For Fitness gym in Kingsland.

We are proud to say our clinic is located within a movement based centre, enabling us to provide progressive exercise based rehabilitation which complements the manual therapy received during sessions.

Philosophy

The Musculoskeletal Clinic was built on the premise that everybody has the capacity to recover if they want to and that it is the role of the Physiotherapist to guide and assist clients on their journey to recovery.

We have a unique view on the body in the sense that nothing ever moves in isolation and often the area of discomfort is only the pawn in a much bigger movement game.

Through education, commitment and collaboration we work with our patients inclusively, to piece together all the physical, social and biological variables that can contribute to your recovery.

To maintain excellence in standards of care we work diligently and consistently on ourselves both inside and outside of work which includes staying relevant and up to date with knowledge and application, where applicable, of physiotherapy evidence/trends nationally and internationally.  This ensures continued improvement of our services.

What makes us unique?

Longer appointment times allows us to be thorough whilst also affording time for safe decision making around your tailored treatment and rehabilitation.

We believe in a collaborative approach to each session and ensure you feel included in the decision making process around your treatment pathway.

We willingly liaise with the appropriate healthcare providers to maintain interdisciplinary communication ensuring your healthcare team is working towards a common goal.

Ciaran Regan’s

Philosophy

Through his own experimentation, work with clients and further education, the approach he currently uses centres around active involvement from the individual he is helping. This means he does his best to teach and guide clients through their rehab process with the end goal of independence from physio post injury. His hope is that those he works with, finish having an understanding of their injury, how it may have happened and how the resolution of their injury integrates into their physical life, presently and in the future.

His approach emphasises identification of specific patterns that may have been lost through injury and the required strength and mobility needed for your specific goals.

Once identified, resolution of injury focuses on building the required strength and mobility while reconnecting these patterns to the individuals desired goals. This is achieved through the use of specific manual therapy, dry needling, strength and mobility exercises and functional rehabilitation i.e. if you want to run again then we work on running!

Professional Interests

Specific areas of interest include strength and conditioning, motor control assessment, neurological injuries, thoracic outlet syndrome, neuromuscular retraining, active flexibility development.

Ciarans long term goal is to develop a valid and reliable way of measuring across all populations the baseline capacity needed to independently mobilise.

Hobbies

If you bump into Ciaran on a day off you’re probably out hiking, climbing, at the gym experimenting or playing soccer!
